For so long people have sought to see objectification as merely what it is. With Project Objectification there is much more. Us as humans are being frequently categorized by gender, sexual preference, body image, and viewed as sexual objects. Photography is even more criticized as a source of objectification by popular opinions. This project is a photographic experiment to challenge the boundary between the art of photography and the real life struggle with objectification. Each photo was deliberately chosen to convey the struggle of what people face within.
Constricted and bound by their limitations as objects. Pieces of meat to pieces of furniture, it ranges and affects people in more ways than one. Depriving people of their movements and sight gives the understanding of what dehumanizing elements are involved. Without capturing their emotions, the images provide a removal of who they are as people. Taking away the self identifying features left in the photos allows there to be no sense of actuality.
